Veerbhushan Nandgaon

A natural farming practitioner with several years of lived experience with local knowledge practices.

A natural farmer with 12 acres in Manhalli, about 20 km south of Bidar. A science graduate, he runs a zero-input farm of mulberry and sericulture, mango, sandalwood, local jave wheat and some 25 vegetables on a quarter acre, keeping weeds as allies and using ash from the village as manure. He reads his land through the nisarga chakra, the cycle of nature, and holds that farming is learnt by practice. An avid reader, he has translated books into Kannada.
